Some more details on the violent repression this morning against COPINH

Some more details on the violent repression this morning against COPINH
at the protest demanding Justice for Berta including all the
intellectual authors in the Honduran state and the cancelation of the
Agua Zarca Project. It would be very important if those of you with
contact in Congress and State Dept can place calls asking them to call
the Honduran authorities to cease the violent repression and release
those detained, including two 16 year olds. This is all occurring
outside the Presidential Palace by the Honduran security forces.
*Francisco Javier Sanchez (President of the Indigenous Council of Rio
Blanco who just returned from Europe where he was demanding the banks
withdraw from the AZ project), Tomas Gomez (Coordinator of COPINH),
Gaspar Sanchez (COPINH Coordination who was in DC in April), Selvin
Milla (COPINH full time), and many others were injured this morning in
the violent repression by the Honduran security forces. I don't have
all the names yet.
Francisco was whacked with the /tolete/ in the /head/ and in the hand.
He is being attended by a doctor.
* There are at least 4 people detained, including two 16 year olds who
are minors. The approximate names as best I can hear are Walter Matate,
16 years old, Misael Nunez Amaya, 16 years old, someone with a last name
Vasquez Gonzalez, 33 years old, and Javier Gonzalez, 26 years old. We'll
probably have the exact names soon.
COPINH continues outside the Presidential Palace and there could be more
repression.
